The Summer season finale is upon us, and we’re bringing out the artillery to send you off into the summer break with the smell of gunpowder in your nostrils. As eclectic lineups go, this is a goodun! We’ve got Electronic Nordic SpacePunk Pop (we’ll run with that today anyway), full on rock, indie alt rock and acoustic pop singer songwriter with a tinge of country. We recently had our minds blown at SPOT in Denmark by the undoubted star of the festival, Lydmor. Referred to in her biog as ‘The danish girl with the bruised knees jumping down from stage swinging the chord of the microphone like a whip while she sings as much of sex and drugs as emotions and far away places.’ She was all that and a lot more. Internationally in demand, Lydmor seems to be everywhere at once. From Sao Paolo singing her heart out while the beat is pumping over her sweaty dancing audience; to coproducing a track with j-pop legend Takeshi Kobayashi; to composing the soundtrack for an animated fantasy series. In between her myriad of creative collaborations (including critically acclaimed “Lydmor & Bon Homme”) this young producer/artist has managed to tour most of the world several times, playing from the biggest festivals and venues to the living rooms of her biggest fans.

This girl is a star, no doubt about it. If you manage to catch one of her shows, she will flirt, dance, cry, scream and hug her way into your heart with a brutal honesty that comes across both in her pumping rhythmical electro sounds as well as her emotional dreamy side. Showered with comparisons to the likes of Grimes, Kate Bush or Björk, but inevitably Lydmor is quite her own and since she returned from Shanghai. She is now working on her biggest project to date, which she will be premiering in a few select cities of Europe (London, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Mainz, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Milan, Amsterdam), and New York City during the spring.

REIGNING DAYS
 Recently signed to the newly formed Marshall Records They have had extensive radio airplay, and support from BBC Introducing, Kerrang! and Apple Music (number one on Apple Music’s Rock playlist).  Last year  performed on stages at The Great Escape, Download, 2,000 Trees, Y Not, and Live at Leeds and toured with Feeder (Camden Roundhouse, Mancester 02 Ritz etc), Detroit rockers Wilson and Raveneye. Their latest single, ‘Empire’ builds on the band’s already stratospheric sound, taking things up yet another notch, with even more bombastic riffery, made-for-radio choruses and a display of musicianship that puts the band way ahead of their contemporaries.

Amy Lawton is a fresh-faced 18yr old Country/Pop artist and songwriter from Manchester, UK. She has written rhymes, poems and short stories since she could pick up a pen and has been developing these ideas into song over the past 18months in London with renowned writer/producer Matty Benbrook. Matty made his name having been instrumental in the development of artists such as Dido, Paolo Nutini and Jack Savoretti.
Their collaboration to date is reminiscent of artists such as Lisa Loeb, Suzanne Vega or County-era Taylor Swift, and we thought we could hear some hints of Lene Marlin in there too.

Amy has been steadily developing her live show with shows including support to Jack Savoretti at London’s Cardogan Hall in March 2016 and performances at many of London’s iconic singer/songwriter venues such as The Troubadour and Ronnie Scott’s. Already a buzz humming around her, this is a great chance to get a look early.

/// BAD SIDEKICK ///

Brand new, fresh off the press (well, not even that yet – still recording their first EP) – tonight’s ‘baby band’ slot goes to the incredibly exciting Bad Sidekick. Mixing dark riffs and pop style melodies, there’s very evidently some Arctic Monkeys, The Kills, Dead Weather,Queens of The Stone Age and The Black Keys influence thundering around the stage. We can’t wait to hear the first EP. So new, all we can fire at you are some bedroom demos here…
